Dave likes exploring the relationship between humans and what they invent, using art to examine and document our progress as a species. He also likes brains. That is to say, he likes the idea of zombies eating them. Dave makes impeccably realistic zombie paintings when he’s not showing more abstract and figurative work. He is also a Libra an honor he shares with Virgil, Nietzsche, and Tito Jackson.

Senecal’s art explores the relationship between humans and what they invent, both formally—by using the digital medium—and thematically—through a combination of figuration and scientific representation. Colorful, intricate compositions interweave images drawn from the natural—the delicateness of skin or the gentle rippling of an ocean—with detailed, meticulously crafted images representing the products of human engineering, from machines to intelligence. Senecal considers art to be an anthropological medium: a device for the examination and documentation of our progress as a species.
Having worked in digital art since 1995, his art can be found in private collections and publications in Denmark, Spain, France, Germany, U.K., South America, Australia, and throughout the U.S.”
