Music for Humans, by Banjo Drill

On Sept. 1st, Banjo Drill released his debut solo album, Music for Humans.

Prior to branching out on his own, he sang with underground heavyweights Wigglepussy, Indiana and Black Cat Revival, whose sounds can best be described as “dark cabaret” - and who are the talents behind Omnibucket’s Eleventy Billion Miles Away.

This time around, Banjo’s taken a different approach, crafting upbeat pop oddities that rock the block with multi-layered music and whimsical imagery.

Back to the Shore

The album’s second track, Back to the Shore, explores how small moments in life can have a huge impact and how we all have a degree of control over our own destiny.

Lyrics

i found a clover by the shore
only 3 leaves but it felt like 4
when the ocean heaved and sighed
up to the sky and the clouds did part
and the sun shined down on me
yes it did

i went for a walk late at night
everything bathin’ in the moonlight
yeah i was feelin’ alright

it could be a beautiful world if you’d let it be a beautiful world
it could be a beautiful world if you’d let it be a beautiful world

i finished my glass of warm red wine
stood up and opened my window
took a deep breath of what’s outside
i lit a candle with my mind
put my fingers to my head and the whole room fille with light
i walked out of my front door and i went down to the shore
went back down to the shore
won’t you come with me now

now here I am where the water meets the land
and the stars are like a million spinning dancers
come with me and baby take my hand
i think we finally found the answer

it could be a beautiful world if you’d let it be a beautiful world
it could be a beautiful world if you’d let it be a beautiful world
